Join PEER Services, a nonprofit providing outpatient substance use counseling services in the North Shore region, as they lead a half-hour presentation about preventing substance use in our community. Immediately following will be two break-out sessions, one for parents and the other an art workshop for teens. Light refreshments provided.

An overview of the impact of the pandemic on mental health and substance use for teens and adults. Attendees will learn the signs and symptoms of mental health struggles and resources for support.
7:00-8:30PM: Parenting During the Pandemic: A Support Group for Parents and Guardians
Facilitators: Christine McCall & Erin Tegge
An opportunity for parents to connect and share their experiences of supporting their children during the pandemic. Group facilitators will lead discussions and share tips to help parents support their children's behavioral health during stressful times.
7:00-8:30PM: Art Therapy Group for Teens: Share Your Story through Altered Books
Facilitator: Monica Morris
Teens will explore the healthy benefits of self-expression through artmaking. Each teen will be provided with a book as well as other materials to create an "altered book." There will also be discussion time about feelings on the new school year and ways to support one another during stressful times.
